Dr. Stephen Burnette accepts God's call as Pastor of

First Baptist Church!

On Sunday Morning, June 7, 2009, First Baptist Church extended a unanimous call to
Dr. Burnette as Senior Pastor.  He accepted the call and began his ministry at
First Baptist Church of Sumter in early August.

Praise the Lord!

Dr. Burnette graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1978 with a Bachelor
of Science degree in biology.  He earned his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary in 1982, and received his Doctor of Ministry from
Fuller Theological Seminary in 2002.

Please welcome Dr. Burnette and his family to Sumter and remember him in your
prayers.
